About Us

Kentmere Healthcare Consulting Corporation established the laboratory benefit management program category in 2000. A lab benefit management program has a crucial role in managing costs and utilization of lab testing and ensuring efficient and effective healthcare delivery.

Kentmere Laboratory Benefits Management Program™ saves national, regional and local health plans, employer customers, and members tens to hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

All Kentmere partner health plans reduce their annual outpatient lab benefit costs by 10 – 20 percent ($1-2+ pmpm)while concurrently improving all lab quality and service measures for providers and members.

With its database and benchmarking models of claims analysis developed over the last quarter-century, Kentmere provides proprietary and highly customized lab benefit management programs to guide health plans to improved quality and service while saving plans, employers, customers and members tens of millions annually.

It serves as the intermediary between lab testing companies to manage use of lab tests, manage the need for lab testing for health plans including self-insured, employers and health insurers.

Kentmere is the bridge between lab test providers and healthcare providers to educate stakeholders about prior authorization and set formularies for specific lab tests, determine coverage policies and manage claims, and review medical need and approve tests.

Because of its independence and exclusive commitment to working only with health plans, Kentmere provides uncompromised excellence and service to its partners. Kentmere is not a laboratory and does not work for or with laboratory providers.

Kentmere Laboratory Benefit Management Program™ leadership team includes those with a deep and direct senior executive level laboratory, managed care, MDs, PhDs, and healthcare analysts most with more than 30 years of experience.
